Help fund work to expose Malaysian companies responsible for annual haze
We need to raise just RM2,500 by March to help fund initial scoping study on using land concession ownership data and boundaries from Indonesian environmental NGOs for joined up data against Malaysian palm oil companies.
The funding will fund time for participation at upcoming international workshop at Kyoto University (travel is already covered by hosts) as well as the following outputs:
- Brief scoping study for open data available in Indonesia and Malaysia to to map Malaysian companies responsible for forest and plantation fires.
- Slides to share with other workshop participants work on working with open data and joined up data for transparency in constrained environments such as Malaysia.
The recommendations in the scoping study will be used to apply for research grants to complete further research and develop some public tools, hopefully before July this year before annual haze usually happens around August.
