To address the existing technical gaps in understanding internet infrastructure, service technologies, and their intersection with law and policy, a comprehensive training curriculum is being developed. It covers essential topics such as data and internet governance, digital security, data privacy, content regulation, and the legal frameworks that impact rights in digital spaces. This two-day workshop will be the first to cover some of these topics from the curriculum, using various formats such as presentations, practical exercises, policy analysis and unconference-style sessions.

Objectives

  • To build an enabling environment for Malaysian civil society and new activists, providing them with the capacity and resources to effectively address current and future challenges in the digital and technological space.
  • To facilitate and develop mechanisms for a collaborative ecosystem where civil society collaborates to address digital rights and technology issues.
