Objectives

  1. Map the current ecosystem by identifying existing policy gaps, overlapping mandates
    and accountability blindspots;
  2. Learn from existing global good practices;
  3. Co-design an adaptive multi-stakeholder national model for internet safety and platform accountability, centred on human rights and shared principles;
  4. Lay the roadmap for the establishment of the national accountability model.

Expected Outcomes

  • Shared understanding of Malaysia’s online ecosystem and the limitations of current
    governance and accountability approaches.
  • An agreed set of principles for a rights-based multi-stakeholder internet safer model.
  • Consolidated commitments from stakeholders to support the initiative through expertise, advocacy, and resources
