Alternatives, formally known as Alternatives, Action and Communication Network for International Development, is a Canadian civil society organization founded in 1994. It works to strengthen grassroots movements that advocate for political, social, economic, and environmental rights. Alternatives supports local organizations in over 35 countries through partnerships focused on sustainable development, democratic governance, human rights, peacebuilding, environmental justice, and participatory democracy. In Canada, Alternatives runs educational and solidarity programs, publishes content on global justice issues, and works with migrant and community groups to advance inclusive and equitable societies.
